With time, she realizes that she did not make the right decision, having lost her family and friends in the process. Vilain petit canard, Le Marie Eykel The Ugly Duckling is a classic fairy tale written by Hans Christian Andersen. The story is about a homely looking little bird born to a mother duck. As the bird grows up, he suffers abuse from his siblings and neighbors. Shunned by all, he spends a long and miserable winter alone, but when spring time arrives, he discovers other birds that look like him. He then realizes that he is a beautiful swan.
